THE RETURN OF MARCO SANCHEZ BRAIN INTRUSION

Early in the 21st century, Marco Sanchez Brain Intrusion (MSBI) was the sound of Brisbane’s humid, beer-soaked underground. Emerging in 2002, a garage band with 5 years of blood sweat, and numerous hospital visits along the way. In 2006 MSBI released the The Daze of Epileptic Elegance EP, the quintet built a reputation on DIY chaos and a twin-guitar assault that ignored every genre boundary there was.

Their sound is a weird, wonderful collision of acid-punk fused with big metal riffs and the kind of creative, polyrhythmic drumming that left their contemporaries in the dust. They were never just local benchwarmers either, having shared the stage with some of the biggest hitters in rock and metal, proving they could hold their own against the heavyweights.

A live MSBI set remains a total wild card. You never quite know if the band will stay fully clothed or if half the crowd will end up onstage for guest vocals or the PA coming down on them. After years as a cult legend in the Brisbane music archives, they’re back for Necrosonic 2026. Older, louder, and still sounding like a "Corporate Warzone," they’ve come to reclaim the noise.
