Melbourne blackened post-metalcore collective RUN debuted in a complicated time of mire in early 2020 - between the fog and confusion at the tail end of vocalist Lochlan Watt’s brain cancer treatment and the panicked early days of the global pandemic.

Armed with his years of experience as a vocalist of acts such as Colossvs, Nuclear Summer, and as a touring fill-in for both Thy Art Is Murder and Psycroptic, the project continues to persevere against all odds.

Wrapped deep in layered concepts and complex artworks, two EPs - 2020’s ‘For You Will Never Find Peace Within Your Quiet’, and 2024’s ‘True Heaviness Is Time’, flourish with bittersweet, suffocating layers of melody that wrap around a skeleton of blackened extreme metal and dynamic post-metal muscle - all spearheaded by rambunctious hardcore aggression.

A number of single releases have kept the needle moving forward along the way, including a cathartic recovery anthem penned in the aftermath of a second round of brain surgery for Watt in 2023’s ‘Everyone’s Cancelled, Everything’s Cancer’, an epic cover of 'Iris' by The Goo Goo Dolls, and a brand new remix of ‘Autumn’ by modern industrial wizard King Yosef.

2025’s latest two track ‘Ash + Soil’ features wild session drumming from Paul Seidel (ex-The Ocean, Nightmarer) and showcases two polar opposites of the band’s wide ranging spectrum.

Since being unleashed onto the live circuit RUN has toured the nation extensively with Deafheaven, Svalbard, Make Them Suffer, The Amity Affliction, Cabal and Frontierer, played hometown supports for Dark Tranquillity, Hexis, Darkest Hour and I Killed The Prom Queen, and has been a part of such iconic Australian festivals as Dark Mofo, Blacken Open Air, The New Dead, and A Cold Day In BNE.
