Nembutolik are an independent, self-managed 5-piece “extreme groove/death metal” band based in Frankston, Victoria. For fans of heavy hitters like Pantera, Sepultura, Damaged, Knocked Loose, and many others, their sound blends a mix of extreme death metal, grindcore, hardcore, punk, and thrash. Known for their strong, youth-driven, cult-like following, the band has sold out multiple headlining shows over the past two years. This local success has led them to share the stage with acts like Gatecreeper, Psycroptic, King Parrot, and more, as well as perform at Good Things Festival 2023.

Nembutolik's live shows offer an energetic, high-intensity atmosphere, combining technical musicianship with top-tier live production to create a brutal yet electrifying experience. The band kicked off their studio career in 2018 with a live, self-titled demo, which marked the beginning of their cult following in Frankston. From there, their live performances rapidly gained momentum across diverse crowds and quickly made a mark in the inner-city scene.

After the pandemic, Nembutolik erupted onto the stage with an immediate sellout show that brought together punks, thrashers, and death-heads alike. This attracted the attention of both local festivals and renowned acts. Fueled by this growing momentum, they released their debut album, All Along The Frankston Line, in mid-2022. The album showcases their unique death-metal blend, with tracks that range from d-beat punk to grindcore blasts and hardcore grooves - all while staying true to a classic death-metal tonality. The title track has become a fan favourite at live shows, with their signature callout consistently getting entire venues involved.

Following the album's success, sold-out shows became the norm, and word spread about the band’s incredible journey - writing an hour of genre-defining music while still teenagers. To keep that energy alive, Nembutolik dropped a follow-up EP in early 2025. South East Suffering takes their signature sound to new heights, refining it into a more focused, evolved form. The EP delivers five tracks filled with thunderous rhythms, aggressive vocals, and jaw-dropping solos, drawing from both international and Australian influences. The result is a sound that’s both familiar and fresh, offering something new for every listener.
