With their intoxicating blend of heavy grooves mixed with flavors of stoner, grind, punk, metal, and rock ‘n’ roll. This genre-bending juggernaut has honed a sound that is uniquely their own. They've defined their own voice and sonic personality while developing a monstrous wall of energy and sound with just three members: a guitarist, drummer, and singer.
Right from their inception in late 2015, they’ve built a solid fanbase through their high-energy live shows and ability to blend multiple heavy genres into one hell of a good time. Having toured Australia consistently, releasing singles, their debut EP Let’s Start a Cult, and their debut full-length record Noise Smasher, Black Rheno have solidified their place in the Australian heavy scene and built a reputation as one of the premier underground heavy acts today.

From heading to the USA to showcase at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas in 2017 while playing shows alongside Ringworm, Darkest Hour, and Iron Reagan. From numerous Australian tours playing alongside Australian heavy hitters such as Psycroptic and King Parrot. To touring nationally with international heavy weights such as Napalm Death, Brujeria, Red Fang, Revocation, Lock Up, Bongzilla, and Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals. Black Rheno have toured internationally alongside EYEHATEGOD, covering Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. Most recently in 2024 Black Rheno joined the stage with one of the most iconic bands in the history of heavy music, PANTERA, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
With 2025 underway Black Rheno has a stack of shows announced with new music on its way. Never slowing down, Black Rheno continues to be a force to be reckoned with and a main stayer in the Australian heavy music scene.
